Tap Water VS Bottled Water

Tap Water VS Bottled Water

Some people don’t think it makes much of a difference if we waste our money on bottled water instead of getting tap water out of the tap, but really it’s like we’re giving money to the government to support global warming.

If we have to buy and drink bottled water because our town’s supply of water is undrinkable, it could be because of the waste from actually making the bottles.

Studies have shown that people actually enjoy drinking tap water compared to bottled water. Why waste money on what you don’t want, when you can get it for free at your house.

Please try and think a bit more about what you need rather than what you want and help try to save our world!

Updating Favourite Quotes

Hey guys,

I know I’ve already done my favourite quotes in a post but I have found some new even better ones. Here they are;

A single rose can be my garden… a single friend, my world.

Leo Buscaglia

Two persons cannot long be friends if they cannot forgive each other’s little failings.
Jean de la Bruyere
There is a magnet in your heart that will attract true friends. That magnet is unselfishness, thinking of others first; when you learn to live for others, they will live for you.

Paramahansa Yogananda
A quarrel between friends, when made up, adds a new tie to friendship.

Saint Francis de Sales
I have friends in overalls whose friendship I would not swap for the favor of the kings of the world.

Thomas A. Edison
True friendship is like sound health; the value of it is seldom known until it is lost.

Charles Caleb Colton
Those were some of my favourites but may I just say this.
Lovers have a right to betray you… friends don’t.

Last School Concert

Hey there awesome viewers!

Thanks for checking out my newest post!

This one is going to be really interesting because it is going to be all about my last school concert!

We did it last night and it was really fun. I was a dwarf called Doc in the Snow White scene along with 6 of my friends. The theme was Fairy tales like Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel and Aladdin. One of my friends was Jasmine from Aladdin, one was Bashful from Snow White and one was Sleeping Beauty from…well…Sleeping Beauty.

We all did really well with our parts. Almost every person in yrs 5 and 6 had a main part but everyone had a class dance and the 5’s and 6’s had a whole year level dance to All the Single Ladies.

Altogether it was a great night and we all did our best.

Favourite Biome

My favourite biome is the forest. I love how you can hide and run for as long as you want. I would also love to live their for there is always many places to discover and rediscover. To live in a forest may mean you are alone for time but it would be peaceful and personally I would love the chance to explore such an enchanting, majestic, and beautiful place. Some people might find it scary but I could make friends among the animals and would learn to love living there. Eventually, when I got to know most sections of the forest, I would invite friends and family to come visit, but I would never try that before I knew where to go and had a safe place to build a small but cosy and peaceful cottage.

Polar Bears Endangered

Despite their cold habitat, Polar Bears have survived and flourished on a steady diet of Ice Seals, particularly Ringed Seals. Now, though, due to Global Warming, the ice is melting rapidly, and this is causing the number of Ice Seals and Polar Bears to decrease suddenly.Due to us burning oil and coal, as well as clearing forests, the Americans have been forced to put Polar Bears on their Endangered Species list. They have also predicted that around 2/3 of the American Population of Polar Bears could disappear over about 2 decades.

Margaret Williams from the WWF had declared that the Polar Bear is like a symbol or a warning for what is happening to the Earth. How can we let this happen to these intelligent species?

Bicycle Poem

The bicycle is a great invention, that, we all know,

But some of them do make us, puff and blow.

T’was a Monday when it bolted, down the side paved alley,

I’m just lucky that it didn’t bolt, down a treacherous valley.

On that day as it bolted that way, I knew,

That I wouldn’t be the last on a bike, to shout WAHOOO!

Also on that day, I learnt a valuable thing,

To never ride never ride a bike, wearing a golden ring.

That bicycle of mine, that took away my breath,

Almost dragged me down, down, to my death.

Mini Fair

Hey everyone!

Today at school we had our Mini Fair.

Some of the stalls we had were

  • Healthy foods and snacks
  • Chocolate Throw (that I think was everyone’s favourite)
  • Cakes and lollies
  • Mini Games
  • Hair Spray and Face Paint
  • Books

All the money that we raised will go to Bahay Tuluyan to help them with planting rice fields to feed the orphans.

Immigration Museum

Last Monday the Seniors from my school went to the Immigration Museum to check out facts about Australia’s history. We took part in 3 different activities such as Passport, Identity, and a short walk around the city. The Passport activity was were we walked around a display area and took notes and answered some question in a fake passport. With the Identity, we looked at some cases with people’s objects and wrote down where we thought they came from, why they came, and where they were now. In the final activity, the short walk around the city, we got lent some IPads to take notes and compare photos that we looked at on the IPads, and the ones we took.

That was what we did at the Immigration Museum

Pluto – New Horizons

Today at school we watched this video about NASA’s New Horizon exploration spaceship that has, on July 14th, sent back the clearest photos that we have ever seen of the dwarf planet, Pluto. We saw how New Horizons is the size of a piano and how they are going to see if it can go to the Kuiper Belt, which is a belt of icy objects. It is the fastest ship ever built by NASA. Another awesome fact is the Australia, who has the biggest transmitting dish in the Southern Hemisphere, was the first to receive the photos it took. Apparently if we wanted to drive to Pluto, it would take 6 thousand years!! I think that NASA has made a great achievement and I think after all their effort, they deserved it.

It was really interesting and I learnt a lot from it.

P.S. It took 9 years to get there!

I hope you learn something from it as well.
